Hi. I am Monica S. Gentry a United Real Estate East Carolina Agent. I started my career path as a United States Air Force Airman many years ago. I spent 9 years in the USAF were I traveled to Korea for a year, did a tour at Myrtle Beach AFB, and finished at Charleston AFB. I did several temporary duty assignments over the course of my career and reached the rank of E-5. After leaving the USAF, I went on to the US Postal Service were I spent 21 years and attained my highest achievement as a Level 21 Postmaster throughout my years of service. I started in Charleston, SC and ended in New Bern, NC. In 2016 I reached my final professional goal of becoming a Real Estate Agent. I worked in customer service for all of my postal career as a clerk and in management so I am all about patience, smiling when it hurts, communicating, and most of all listening. I believe all of these qualities are important when helping clients make the biggest purchase of their lives and or selling the home they have lived in and raised their families in for many years. It's all a process. I love everything about real estate. I like that it allows me to set goals continuously, the educational opportunities, and most of all the looks and feelings of joy from clients when a transaction closes. I love this new journey that I am on which I started at age 51. I believe it's never too late to go for your dreams and be successful. I Dream big and aim high and I do not let anything or anyone get in my way. God has my back and I fill my days with prayer, faith, knowledge, and Love. I have an amazing husband who supports me emotionally and physically whom I love with all of me. My daughter is my best creation. Her beauty, energy, and fearlessness of life makes me so envious and helps me to not be afraid of this thing called "life". I love her to pieces. My future is endless and I am loving every bit of the journey and I pray that all who read my bio gains encouragement for their aspirations. Life is too short not to!

A daughter of Colombia, South America, I found beauty, creativity and imagination during my early days helping my father around his construction sites. After graduating as a Business Administrator, I worked as an insurance broker for DeLima March; the largest insurance broker in South America. There, I developed a comprehensive approach to customer service by honing my ability to “hear” my customer’s needs; not just their words. During the 3.5 years that followed, I worked as the International Sales Representative for a Colombian/US tool manufacturing company, traveling to Central and South America as well as the reaches of the Caribbean, and coming in contact with people from many diverse cultures and all walks of life. This intensified my passion for languages which I retain to this day (English, Spanish and some Italian) and a greater appreciation for the importance of that place called “HOME”.
In 2003, I moved to Raleigh, NC to work in sales for one of the premier Spanish speaking television stations in the country (Univision). While I was very successful in that industry, it came second best to finding Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and meeting my best friend and beloved husband, a U.S. Marine. Today, I am a proud US Citizen, a resident of New Bern, North Carolina, a very proud military spouse and mother of three amazing children. Although my travels in marriage and industry have taken me to several countries in the world, (Colombia, Venezuela, Panama, Costa Rica, Dominicana, Mexico, Puerto Rico, California, South Carolina, Japan, Virginia and others) my heart never ventured far from my home of North Carolina. I was born and raised in France. I moved to the United States in December 2002 with my family. I learned to speak the language with the help of my children. In the following 9 years, I moved 3 times to 3 different states. I have learned how difficult it could be to change city or state with a family. Every time I had to overcome the stress of the move and help my children get settled in their new home. Finding a new home was also a big challenge but very exciting at the same time.
